![]() You might be surprised how much the brain can accept with good game design. In soviet Russia, knob turns your hand I guess. In DCS, first I apply movement to my hand while not holding anything (so as to determine the direction of movement to eventually be applied to the control I will eventually hold), then I reach for (or point at) the control, and then finally I click a button, which will instantly both hold the control and also apply movement to it (even though at this point my hand is holding completely still at a given pose). In real life, first I reach for the control I want to manipulate, then I hold that control, then while holding that control I perform the movement I want to apply to it. The main problem IMHO is that the logical flow of actions is completely inverted, so what should be natural actions become very counterintuitive. The issue then is simply that DCS' motion controller support is still the same old green laser / blue laser nonsense. stick your index finger out to get the laser pointer to show up). So if you enable virtual hands in DCS, they will track the position of your real hands relative to the HMD (as they would track the position of any motion controller), and your hand gestures will trigger the same actions that a motion controller would (i.e. My understanding is that, with the SteamVR driver installed, leap motion will work just like any other VR motion controller. r/flightsim - Flight Sim goodness across the entire spectrum of aviation. r/falconbms - Only one engine?
